Andrew Bisson
Andrew Bisson is Anishinaabe from M鈥機higeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. He currently resides in Ottawa.
Andrew is the Chief Executive Officer of the Assembly of First Nations, a position he has held since August 2024.
Andrew has extensive and diverse work experience, including positions at a First Nations tribal council, a national First Nations organization, a government department, a federal deputy minister鈥檚 office and a federal minister鈥檚 office. His work experience includes policy and communications roles.
He has a Masters of Public Administration from Queen鈥檚 University and a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Public Administration and Governance from 91看片网. He has also previously taught part-time university courses at a joint program delivered in partnership between 91看片网 and the First Nations Technical Institute, based in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ontario.
Andrew also served as an elected councillor in his home community of M鈥機higeeng First Nation from 2023 to 2026, elected as one of the first ever off-reserve councillors in M鈥機higeeng.
Andrew is married with a 20-year-old daughter.
