Children's Social/Emotional Well-Being
Children���s social and emotional well-being are examined through critical analysis of theories and research. Topics include primary and secondary emotions, attachment, temperament, parenting, anxiety and aggression, and gender identity. The course acknowledges children���s rights and contemporary theories of childhood that view children as social agents who help shape their own well-being. Students learn a variety of strategies deemed to support children's mental health and their adaptation to life's challenges.
