Researchers from the Children’s Media Lab were invited to author the Canadian chapter in the textbook: Histories of Children’s Television Around the World (edited by Yuval Gozansky). The chapter — which details the development of children’s media in Canada — is informed by interviews with Canadian children’s media veterans which were conducted by members of the Children’s Media Lab. The veterans interviewed include Canadian children’s media performers, executives, and creators. Histories of Children’s Television Around the World features 12 chapters that are authored by children’s media researchers, historians, and other professionals around the world. Each chapter details the evolution of children’s television around the world, from its origins to the digital age, and provides new insights about the history of children’s television in non-Anglo-American contexts.

The book details the history of children’s television in the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Netherlands, and the United States.
