For this seminar looking at research-based creative writing professor, Dr. Geoff Bouvier assigned A Thousand Times You Lose Your Treasure and invited me to visit and speak with the class about my research and creation and respond to student questions.
鈥淭his advanced creative writing course is a workshop- and craft-based study in how to write creatively from scholarly research. We will engage with factual history in such a way that it comes alive on the page, reading more like a series of vivid short stories than a dry historical document. Using a variety of diverse texts as models, students will research the historical underpinnings of a current issue in our cultural discourse and produce a creative paper consisting of creative historical vignettes.鈥�
