Dr. Brandon Tehanyatari虂:ya鈥檏s Martin earned a Ph.D in American Studies, specializing in Haudenosaunee history, at the State University of New York at Buffalo, a MA in American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona, and a BA from Morningside College with majors in Native American Studies and French. His research interests focus on Haudenosaunee language, culture, and history.

For more than a decade Dr. Martin has been directly involved in the Haudenosaunee language revitalization movement at the community level. First as a Kanyen鈥檏e虂ha (Mohawk language) student at Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa in Six Nations. Followed by roles as Program Coordinator and Instructor with Yonkhiyana鈥檛o虂n:nis, which was a Kanyen鈥檏e虂ha adult immersion program that operated at Native American Community Services in Buffalo, New York. And most recently as the Director of Deadiwe虉no虉snye鈥檚 Ge虉jo虂hgwa, which is an Ono虉ndowa鈥檊a:鈥� Gawe虉:no虉鈥� (Seneca language) adult immersion program that operates at the Seneca Nation.
