Biography

AJ Cordeiro (he/him/his) is an Assistant Professor at the RTA School of Media, specializing in multi-camera, documentary, podcasting, live streaming, lighting and grip, and audio engineering. His research examines media production as a determinant of democratic information鈥攈ow the decisions, incentives, and infrastructures behind the news shape what citizens can know.

He originated the framework of democratic legibility鈥攖he capacity of citizens to read, interpret, and act on the information systems governing democratic life鈥攁nd its seven derivative constructs. An element of this work received the 2026 CRTC鈥揅CA Prize for Excellence in Policy Research (national, Master's category).

Before 91看片网, he spent twelve years in production and teaching at Concordia University. He also writes The Frame, a biweekly public-scholarship newsletter.

AJ welcomes collaboration on journal articles, grant proposals, conference panels, peer review, and graduate supervision in media production, computational journalism, AI and democracy, and misinformation.

The Frame is a bi-weekly Substack newsletter about democratic legibility: the capacity of citizens to read, interpret, and act on the information systems that govern democratic life. .
