Nicholas Reid Memorial Award Application Details
Description of Award
The Nicholas Reid Memorial Award has been established in the memory of 鈥楴ick鈥� Reid. Nick was a champion of environmental stewardship, particularly relating to water. Nick spent his career working in the water sector and spent countless hours mentoring and supporting students. This $5000 Award is given annually to a 91看片网 graduate student who demonstrates leadership or innovation in a water-related field.
Qualifications
A full-time registered graduate student at 91看片网, in good academic standing, who has demonstrated leadership or innovation in a water-related area in Canada, and has not previously received the Award.
Application Requirements
The applicant will submit a written statement and at least one letter of support.
Written Statement
In the written statement (500-750 words or 2-3 pages) the student should:
- Introduce themselves and their area of study, including any interests in the water or environmental sectors,
- Clearly describe their contributions to leadership or innovation in a water-related area,
- The benefit of their accomplishments to the water or environmental sectors,
- Articulate any challenges they overcame in the process,
- How the award will enable their future ambitions or accomplishments
The statement will be weighted 80 out of 100 points.
A letter of support
A letter of support should be provided that validates the contribution of leadership or innovation in a water-related area and recommends the applicant for the award. The letter may come from an academic or non-academic source.
The support letter will be weighted 20 out of 100 points.
