Regional Hubs
Our project is organized into four continental research hubs located in
North America, Latin America, Africa, and Europe.
Academic Hub Lead
Dr. Harald Bauder (Soli*City Director) is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmenatl Studies at the 91看片网 (91看片网) and the Graduate Program in Immigration and Settlement Studies (ISS). Dr. Bauder is the former Graduate Program Director (2016-2021) of ISS and Founding Academic Director (2011-2015), of the Toronto Metropoliran Centre for Immigration and Settlement (TMCIS).
Activities in Montreal will be coordinated by Dr. Mireille Paquet, Associate Professor and Research Chair in Politics of Immigration at Concordia and co-founder of the Centre for the Study of Politics and Immigration (CSPI) and 脡quipe de Recherche Sur l'Immigration dans le Qu茅bec Actuel (脡RIQA). With Dr. Bauder, Dr. Paquet will co-lead the research in North America.
Academic Hub Lead
Dr. Joseph Kofi Teye is an Associate Professor of Geography & Resource Development, Director of the Centre for Migration Studies (CMS) at University of Ghana and co-director of the UKRI South-South Migration, Inequality and Development Hub will lead the projects鈥� activities in Africa.

This hub is led by Dr. Fernanda Stang, Sociologist at the Catholic Uiniversity Silva Henr铆quez (Chile), and Director of the Centro de Investigaci贸n en Ciencias Sociales y Juventud. Dr. Stang are of epertise include gender and migration, migrant youth, migration and sexual diversity.

Dr. Martin Bak J酶rgensen is Professor in Processes of Migration at Democracy, Migration and Society Research group (DEMOS) at the Department for Culture and Learning, Aalborg University, Denmark. He works within the fields of sociology, political sociology and political science. He has published book Politics of Dissent (Peter Lang, 2015; co-authored with 脫scar Garc铆a Agust铆n) and Solidarity Without Borders:
Gramscian perspectives on migration and civil society alliances (Pluto Press, 2016) and Solidarity and the 鈥楻efugee Crisis鈥� in Europe (Palgrave, 2019) both co-authored with 脫scar Garc铆a Agust铆n). Forthcoming books include The migration mobile: border dissidence, sociotechnical resistance and the construction of irregularized migrants (Rowman & Littlefield 2022). He has published articles in journals like Internal Migration Review, Critical Sociology, Journal of International Migration and Integration and British Journal of International Politics. He is co-PI on the Enacting Citizenship and Solidarity in Europe "From Below": Local Initiatives, Intersectional Strategies, and Transnational Networks [ECSEuro] project (2022-2024) that was recently funded by the VolkswagenStiftung.
The academic leadership is shared between Dr. Andreas Pott, Prof of Social Geography and Director of IMIS (U Osnabruck) and Dr. Martin Bak J酶rgensen, Assoc. Prof. at the Dept. of Culture & Global Studies (Aalborg U). Both have managed large research projects, and each will serve a 3.5 year term as the Europe hub lead.
